Provide your pet with regular mental stimulation by interaction with humans and/or other compatible animals, if appropriate for the species.
You should provide appropriate enrichments to your pet’s environment so that your pet can express its normal behaviours, as far as possible. Examples include safe toys or suitable objects to play with for pets that like to play, or dust baths for chinchillas. It is your responsibility to find out the behavioural needs of your pet and provide for them to the extent as required by good practice.
If you try to train your pet, only use suitable methods which are humane and do not cause pain or distress. Adopt positive reward-based training methods.
